Experienced staff nurse on the Progressive Pulmonary Care Unit (PPCU) and Medical Assessment and Treatment unit (MAT) aka MICU Step-down at Rochester General Hospital. ACLS, BLS, and Med-Surg Certified. After graduating from The College at Brockport, I got accepted into a nurse residency program, called Explore. I started my career as a nurse during this six month residency program, where I was working and expanding my nursing skills on Oncology/Hematology, CVICU Step-down and PPCU/MAT units. With almost 2 years of experience on PPCU/MAT unit I became confident in caring for acutely ill patient populations specializing in providing care for, but not limited to, respiratory failure, septic shock, electrolyte imbalances, and drug/alcohol withdrawal. Skills acquired are insertion and maintain peripheral IV’s, central and arterial line access, monitor and titrate IV drips, NG/PEG/ Nephrostomy tubes, wound care, hemodynamically and ventilatory monitoring.
