Sinead has nearly 20 years experience in Talent planning and HR, spanning across the entire employee life-cycle. Her experience has mainly focused on recruitment, learning and development, early careers, staff retention and organisational development. Her experience has been gained both within the local and international markets; UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand as well as across the Corporate and the Higher Education sector. She has extensive experience building high performing teams both face-to-face and across virtual environments, consistently delivering exceptional service to a wide range of stakeholders. Sinead leads the Talent Acquisition function at Curtin University, providing both strategic and operational leadership to a team of 11. Her role focuses on key areas including Learning & Development, Change Management, Process Improvement, Project Management and Organisational Development. With a commitment to aligning people strategies with the University’s broader goals, Sinead plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Executive team. She ensures that Talent Acquisition contributes to a compelling Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and builds a workforce that supports Curtin’s mission to “make tomorrow better.”
Sinead had responsibility for managing the employee life cycle for Specsavers employees ensuring talent planning, succession planning and retention strategies. Leading a team to ensure strategic people plans are implemented at store level. Her role involved working with the business to support the development of future Specsavers leaders, ensuring relevant training, appraisals, and using strategic influence to ensure the right people are in the right roles across ANZ.
Sinead had the responsibility of owning and influencing the end-to-end Graduate Recruitment and Retention strategy across Ireland & Scotland. The main focus of this role involved ensuing there was a strong people plan across Specsavers stores, working on succession planning and retention strategies as a top priority.
As the Partner Engagement Manager at Specsavers UK & Ireland, Sinead was responsible for the engagement, development and placement of Joint Venture Partners (Specsavers business owners). Sinead's focus was securing outstanding leadership talent as well as providing pastoral care and guidance on the candidates journey to Partnership. Sinead delivered a credible resourcing service to the business across the entire recruitment lifecycle, which including mentoring, training, development and assessment. Sinead worked closely with the key stakeholders to ensure succession planning across Specsavers stores as well as developing a strong people pipeline for the future.
Sinead worked as an Principal Consultant in Sydney for over 2 years, managing a busy Professional Support desk across a wide range of industries including Legal, Insurance, Finance and Commercial.
Sinead worked as an Executive Temporaries Consultant at Reed in Belfast for over 3 and a half years, managing a busy temporary desk across Public Sector, Legal, Insurance, Finance and Commercial businesses. Sinead was offered a new role as a Consultant within Reed's Sydney branch. She relocated to Sydney in February 2011 to take up the role of Executive Support Consultant. Her role within the Sydney office is to develop the Executive Support arm of the business.
