Responsible for operation producing steel wire, galvanised wire and fabricated fencing 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Review sales demand and ensure manning and equipment operate efficiently and within budget while delivering on our promise to our customer. Coach team on safety, quality and environmental targets while also lifting operational standards and minisming production downtime. • Lead review of OPS skills model which hasn’t changed since 1999. My leadership and skills have seen a brand-new model introduced and embraced by the team, driving and rewarding gained skills and knowledge. • Improved labour plan to allow Team Leaders to understand the labour they have available as well as provide Supervisors clarity about the plan which needs to be achieved for the week. • Increased plant communication, providing clear and concise information efficiently to the shop floor involving safety, quality, environment and performance. This has been a longstanding issue and has been completed via positioning company and community noticeboards, installing emergency management boards, updating HSR meeting minutes and developing and presenting a 3-week toolbox presentation. • Coached team to achieve safety lead indicators. Orchestrate onsite trades including electricians, fitters and boilermakers to ensure plant reliability is maximised. Coordinate contractor activities and audit work practices to safety standards. Investigate, develop and implement solutions to reduce manufacturing downtime. • Implemented and communicated new roster pattern to support production demands by providing complete maintenance coverage while achieving conversion cost targets • Reinvigorated key performance indicators and complementary reporting system allowing the workshop to achieve its goals • Investigated cause for premature equipment failure and discussed solution with production. Improved reliability of equipment by 33% above target • Identified, justified and installed improved wiredrawing equipment delivering 11% greater machine speeds • Coached team to achieve safety lead indicators. Unsafe conditions > 2, At-risk behaviours > 1, Near misses > 2
