In 2022, Bardan Cells Ltd was named as the only Australian battery cell manufacturing company to share more than $242 million in federal government funding, as part of the Curtin University-led Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer hub. In December 2021, InfraNomics Technologies (Australia) announced a 50/50 joint venture agreement with AMTE Power plc (UK) to form Bardan Cells in Perth, Western Australia. Leveraging the development of market-leading battery technologies from AMTE Power plc (UK), Bardan focuses on manufacturing advanced lithium and sodium ion battery cells for applications in remote & transportable power for utilities, mining & resources, defence, medical, scientific, as well as agricultural customers. All our cells will be manufactured using sovereign, sustainable, ethical, Net Zero Carbon and alternative battery supply chains. Bardan works closely with Lithium Valley, leading universities, research establishments and innovators to develop new Intellectual Property in battery supply chains. Bardan is taking seriously its motto to convert "Powder to Power", so we are now working swiftly and closely with collaboration partners all around Australia, to design and construct a pilot battery cell factory in Perth, ready for commissioning next year. This will mark an important milestone in Western Australia's push to add signficant value to the abundant natural minerals and resources occuring in this vast state.
