  • Engineering Internship - Environmental Reporting at Total
    Feb 2016 - Jul 2016 · 6 mos

Study of the reporting of methane emissions by Total Exploration/Production operated affiliates The overall purpose of the internship was to show and prove that Total Oil & Gas exploration and production impact on environment through atmospheric emissions is less than it is the case with coal extraction. To do so, it was necessary to make sure that the reporting of CH4 emissions were reliable within operated affiliates. Eventually, we could clarify the improvements to be made in order to make the reporting as accurate as possible and communicate towards affiliate to achieve a sustainable improvement. -Study of data related to CH4 emissions through process vents of Total operated affiliates -Contact with multiple affiliates around the world (Argentina, Norway, Netherlands, the UK, Russia, Angola, Congo, Gabon, Nigeria, Qatar, Indonesia, Brunei, Myanmar etc) -Communication towards affiliates to explain the importance of accurate reporting -Comparison of the reporting with the P&IDs to verify whether the reporting was indeed according to standards -Re-simulation of the emissions - reporting consolidation -Preparation of guidelines to improve reporting of operated affiliates
