Simona F. Jones, MPA, is a mid-to-senior level brand strategist, storyteller, and public relations professional. Throughout her career, Simona has worked closely with several politicians and non-profit organizations in the D.C. area, supporting initiatives that promote equity, community development, and public accountability. Her experience spans working with government officials, NGOs, and community stakeholders, providing her with a well-rounded understanding of public affairs and strategic communications. Simona previously served as the Press Manager of Government Affairs, Tech Policy, and Corporate Accountability at Color Of Change. Before joining, she spent a collective two years at SKDKnickerbocker, the number one public affairs firm in the country, executing brand communications and media relations for a variety of clients across diverse industries, ranging from small business development, DEI initiatives, and corporate sustainability efforts. Before joining SKDK, she worked as the Campaign Coordinator to kick-start Gordon Fletcher's campaign for Ward 5. Before that, she served the D.C. community as the executive assistant to Ward 4 Council Member Janeese Lewis George. They met when Simona was acting as Communications Director for Ed Lazere's campaign for DC Council at Large in 2020, during the peak of the pandemic. Before joining the campaign and interning at SKDK, Simona worked as an Associate at Public Private Strategies, a boutique government affairs strategic communications firm. As an Associate Consultant, Simona supported high-profile clients through policy-specific strategic communications. Simona began her career as an intern at NCRC’s D.C Women’s Business Center, supporting the economic success of majority-minority entrepreneurs. Simona earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Howard University in 2018, where she developed a strong foundation in public policy and community engagement. She earned her Master of Public Administration from Bowie State University and is a dedicated public servant. Simona is originally from Durham, North Carolina, and has been a resident of the D.C. area for over 10 years. She is passionate about expanding her career to continue making a meaningful impact.
