Simona is a recent graduate from UCLA with a B.A. Sociology and a minor in Information & Media Literacy. Throughout her time at UCLA, she has gained extensive leadership experience through working as a supervisor at a overnight summer camp and in customer service, as well as through her time on Survivor @ UCLA’s production team, of which she served as co-president. In her internships with The Science Factory and #HalfTheStory project in combination with her coursework, she has gained knowledge of the media landscape and the ways people interact with the technology. Additionally, these experiences helped her grow her skills in research, digital marketing, and project management. Simona is looking for jobs that will mentally stimulate her and engage her leadership skills and interest in the technological world.
I backpacked solo across Europe for three months to broaden my worldview, chase my curiosity, discover new cultures, and connect with people from all over the world. I left this experience changed, with a new passion for the arts in my pocket and in awe of all that the world has to offer us. I'm excited to utilize the project management-esque skillset that I built while traveling in combination with my passion for connection and education professionally.
This summer I stepped into a role with higher programmatic demands, requiring me to craft a month-long sports-themed program calendar and curriculum for rising 8th and 9th graders in addition to working with rising 9th-11th graders for two weeks. I designed a program that emphasized holistic wellness, giving campers opportunities to engage in sports, outdoor education, mindfulness practices, and more. The opportunity to adapt and innovate on a program that meant so much to me as a camper was invaluable and I am certain that the framework that I developed will support future leaders who step into the role.
