Contributed to all aspects of Human Factors projects and usability testing, including study preparation, protocol creation, testing moderation, data analysis, and report writing. Also contributed to the collection, analysis, and synthesis of ethnographic data in hospital operating rooms. Project work involves intramuscular and subcutaneous injection devices, insulin pumps, surgical navigation systems, and robotic surgical systems.
Worked with a team led by Dr. Peter Reese in the Renal Electrolyte and Hypertension Division at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Studied the effects of incentives on medication adherence in dialysis patients at various dialysis clinics in Philadelphia. Also studied long-term physical and psychological outcomes in live kidney donors as well as individuals turned down for donation. Work included conduction of telephone interviews, study administration with patients, data collection and statistical analysis. Shadowed Dr. Reese and colleagues at the Penn Transplant Institute, including observation of general rounds, patient visits at HUP and dialysis clinics, and observation of kidney transplant surgery.
