In my role of research assistant, I support humanitarian organizations and research consulting firms in gathering quality data that helps inform decisions to design better improved interventions. My expertise is in both qualitative and quantitative research. I have familiarized in using mobile data collection tools such as CommCare, SurveyCTO, Kobo Collect tool, ODK and other data collection tools for collecting data. I have accrued 5 years of experience in the field of research and supporting the MEAL system in ensuring quality data obtained from the target participants is securely stored while observing ethical considerations into heart of services rendered to the population.

    Participated during the baseline data collection exercise with mothers and their children of between 3 to 4 years old during the SH+ study conducted in 24 villages of Rhino camp refugee settlement. The study aims to understand the effectives of adapted Self-help Plus (SH+) to reduce psychological distress among children. Conducted quantitative data collections with both children and their female caregivers/mothers through series of tools. Used tools such as TOSA 2D, child cognitive assessment tools, economic games, and Kiddy-Kindl for child assessment.

    Participated during the impact evaluation of the DREAMS project where I fully participated in the field data collection through conducting qualitative interviews such as focus Group Discussions, Key Informant interviews, and In-depth interviews with participants in Bidibidi refugee settlement. Transcribed the interviews in English, Bari, Aringa/Lugbara, Juba-Arabic. Provided field notes and reports to the supervisor. Collected 42 recorded interviews and later transcribed the interviews within 20 days.

      TeamUp a methodology developed by War Child Holland, Save the Children Netherlands and UNICEF to meet the psychosocial needs of refugees through structured movement based activities such as play, dance and body movement. TeamUp research study was conducted to better understand better ways of improving children's wellbeing through their involvement in play and movement-based activities such as sports and dance. Supported through conducting interviews with children during a quasi-experimental study conducted in four schools in Bidibidi refugee settlement of Uganda which provided a concrete data on the TeamUp approach and methodology having a measurable impact on the children's wellbeing.

    Led a team of enumerators during the UNHCR Result Monitoring Survey (RMS). RMS is a tool developed by UNHCR to understand the living conditions and the progress that UNHCR and many partners are making in improving people's lives. I was directly responsible in conducting data collection validation checks for enumerators through Back-checks, Spot-checks, and sometimes audio audits to monitor enumerator performance while conducting interviews. Assigned GPS coordinates to enumerators to locate households to be interviewed. Implementing quality assurance protocols to ensure data collected is of high quality and standard by checking completeness, Accuracy and consistency, proper and complete documentation. Reporting of the daily progress and any issues and concerns encountered in the field and resolving them to ensure smooth running of the activity.
