Currently looking for an opportunity to get a foot in the door of consultation. With over 1,5 years of living abroad I am experienced in intercultural communication with western as well as east-asian cultures. I am fascinated by learning through immersion and finding the common in the utterly different.
In my role as an English teacher I teach children of all ages english as an cultural experience by encouraging them in their interest and stimulating their curiosity for a second language.
Working in the house-owned restaurant RAQOU I was responsible for customer service of western and Chinese customers. During the non-busy working hours I introduced my japanese co-workers to western style communication and cultural norms.
During my time serving the restaurant’s customers in japanese, english or german, I represented my companies values by acting out japanese style hospitality. Besides being a waiter I also translated the menus and acted as a mediator when issues of cultural differences arose.
