Over the last 25+ years I've worked across agency, consultancy and client-side leadership roles, helping businesses to transform brands, connect customer experience, commercial performance, technology and marketing to unlock growth. As the most senior and principle client partner, I've led large-scale brand visual and verbal identity, digital transformation programmes, nurtured and rebuilt client partnerships, grown revenues, improved profitability, developed high-performing teams and advised executive stakeholders (including private equity investors) through periods of significant change. My career has spanned multiple eras of marketing, technology and customer engagement. From direct marketing, retail activation and production, through digital transformation, performance marketing and customer experience, to today's AI-driven discovery landscape. While the channels have evolved, the challenge has remained remarkably consistent: helping organisations create clarity, align teams and deliver measurable commercial outcomes. I've been fortunate to work with global enterprises, challenger brands, private equity-backed businesses and ambitious B2B scale-ups including AWS, Condeco Software / Eptura, Console Connect, Direct Line Group, David Lloyd Clubs, Fujitsu, LSEG, Virgin Media and Zurich. Regulated industries have been a constant including FS, Health, Utilities and PS. The common thread throughout my career has been helping organisations solve complex commercial challenges, build stronger brands, customer relationships and create sustainable growth. My strongest work tends to happen where growth has stalled, transformation is needed, teams require alignment, or businesses are navigating significant change.
I was the senior client partner working with high profile organisations including AWS, BAE Systems, Equans and Fujitsu. B2B Technology brands, global enterprise and scale up. Shaping corporate content strategy and direction, brand visual and verbal identity, response and GTM. Attending multiple MWCs, IBCs, AWS Summits to support ambitious brands to find their voice in their crowded marketplace. Leading content and creative from inception to delivery across multiple channels and video, animation and visual / audio formats including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and Web for internal, social and PR. My Client contacts were typically C-suite, located in the UK, EMEA, APAC and US and this often involved working with people teams with remit for employer brand and talent as well as marketing, channel, partner, product and sales stakeholders.
Partnered with executive leadership and PE owners to redefine brand, customer experience, digital and social, and marketing strategy across a 40 site estate. Presented to over 200 colleagues at the 2019 Annual Conference.
Scaled a start up by shaping brand, acquisition and customer experience programmes that grew the business from two to ten profitable sites. This included a total digital refresh where I reset the website, social media and digital communications. I worked in close collaboration with Owners and Investors supporting acquisition by AirHop in 2019.
Promoted to the SLT that transformed the business by converting revenue into ebitda. The most senior marketing role in the business, I led marketing and customer engagement across 95 clubs in UK and EMEA, managing a £10M+ budget and 15−person team across new member acquisition, digital, CRM, PR and research. Put the brand onto TV for the first time. Drove brand awareness, new member enquiries and member satisfaction scores. Increased conversion with challenger sale. Team development and leadership impact recognised with Team of the Year 2016 award.
Transformed all digital touchpoints of David Lloyd and Harbour Club including website, mobile app, owned and paid digital, social media, digital content, internal comms and PR, email marketing and CRM. Working closely with specialist agency partners, I orchestrated a close knit ecosystem that collaborated and reduced CPE by 50%.
