During my time at Southern Water I have been awarded 14 Star Awards, based on the company values of succeeding together, always improving, or doing the right thing. In addition, I have achieved the following: • Worked on the procurement of the Strategic Waste Management Framework worth £1.2 billion which generated savings of £87.2 million; • Sourcing Manager for the procurement of the AMP8 Wastewater Network Services Framework worth £58m which generated a saving of £11.5m; • Redrafted the template ITT and Recommendation to Award Report with instructions and user guides; • Been part of a working group to roll out the new HR Management System. • Been part of the team that reviewed internal processes and proposed simplified working practices; • Trained staff on systems and Utilities Contract Regulation Compliance.
Whirlst at Maidstone Borough Council I achieved three promotions becoming Procurement and Contract Manager and managed two members of staff. I successfully lead strategic change and introduced a commissioning approach whilst improving processes and providing guidance to officers to ensure compliance with EU Legislation and best practice. I also created a suite of contracts and template tender documents to protect the Council and assist with achieving corporate outcomes through the inclusion of social value and appropriate performance monitoring tools. • Created a bespoke way to monitor performance for a panel of planning consultants and also for a Kent wide cash collection contract; • Created the social value policy; • Introduced a mechanism to ensure compliance with the transparency code; • Introduced a commissioning approach across the Council;
• Sourcing suppliers, ordering stock, planning production through the factory and progress chasing to fulfil orders • Part of ISO 9001 Quality Management Team • Continuous Improvement Team Member • Created a forecasting/ordering tool, to extract data from company MRP ( Material Resource Planning) system to assist with expediting purchase orders • Trained a new apprentice for nine months • Wrote three training manuals as well as submitted an additional eight other ideas for the company suggestion scheme • Part of an implementation team for a new MPR (material requirements planning) system which involved resolving bill of material and routing errors as well as suggesting system modifications
