heidelberg.ai is a meetup on topics in Artificial Intelligence. We organise in person talks, often held in the large auditorium at the German Cancer Research Center. The community has grown to over 2000 members.
During my PhD I worked on deep learning algorithms to segment and classify medical images such as MRI and CT scans. I worked closely with radiologists and clinicians at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, working with real patient data. I placed a particular focus on dealing with ambiguity in medical images resulting in novel generative models that can generate different plausible segmentations and thereby convey appropriate uncertainty - similar to how a panel of radiologists may give different medical opinions.
The Post-Binary was a 3-day conference on Artificial Intelligence in Art & Design held at the Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt am Main, from November 8-10. We put together a mix of hands-on tutorials, talks by renowned generative AI artists, practitioners & curators as well as panel discussions.
