Member of Rotary International since 1974. Immediate past Secretary of Rotary Action Group aginst Slavery; Secretary of Amnesty International Thetford Group & Chair of Mustard Soup (support for young people with Multiple Sclerosis). I was a charter member of the Minnesota-based e-Rotary Club EndHT and I’m now a member of the UK based satellite club for Slave Free Communities Former Senior Partner & later consultant at Cunningham, John (later KCJ) Law Firm - now Ashtons Legal; Trustee of Optua UK, Child Brain Injury Trust, Headway & UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum. Former chair of Thetford Amnesty, Group and secretary of Diss Amnesty group in the 70s and 80s. Senior Fellow of APIL, Fellow of Institute of Advanced Legal Studies & Emeritus Member of FOCIS. I have a certificates in international human rights law, and international development. Professionally I had an international law practice representing people with catastrophic neurological injury (mostly from medical negligence) & recovered at trial, damages to maximise their quality of life. Author of several monograms proposing medical & legal reforms that were implemented. Member and volunteer at Anti-Slavery International. Having retired from practice, much of my time is now spent in teaching and working for human rights in the fields of modern slavery & prisoners of conscience.
