Dr. Frey is non-invasive cardiologist with sub-speciality training in cardiac imaging. After internal medicine training at Kantonsspital Baden, he completed his specialist’s training at the University Hospital Basel and St. Thomas Hospital London / King’s College London. At the moment he works at the Cantonal Hospital Baden as Consultant for Cardiology and Head of Cardiac Imaging. He performs all cardiac imaging modalities (CMR, cardiac CT, PET, SPECT, TTE, TOE) and holds the highest certification from EACVI for CMR and cardiac CT (level III). His research interest focuses on different biomarkers and AI-tools as potential gatekeepers to optimize preselection of patients prior to advanced cardiac imaging to optimize the allocation of limited healthcare resources while maintaining an excellent level of safety for patients. Past research activities focused on device therapy of heart failure patients (CRT), prevention of sudden cardiac death (ICD) and working day structure of junior residents.
