I am a safety‑driven Asset Management Director with more than 27 years of experience across heavy industry, consultancy, and the UK water sector. I specialise in leading organisations through the development, implementation, and continual improvement of ISO 55001‑aligned asset management systems, supporting them to progress from competency to excellence using the Pathway to Excellence methodology. My career spans senior leadership roles in operations, engineering, and maintenance within large, complex organisations. I have successfully delivered strategic transformation programmes, embedding lean thinking, strengthening risk‑ and value‑based frameworks, and ensuring alignment between organisational goals, operational delivery, and long‑term asset performance. As part of the Patron group of the Institute of Asset Management, I contribute to several international initiatives. Including recently the development of SAM+, the IAM’s global maturity assessment tool, and am part of the working group shaping the new Pathway to Excellence guidance. I draw on extensive operational leadership experience to ensure strategic direction is clearly communicated, understood, and adopted at pace. A key focus of my work is integrating physical and digital asset strategies. I champion structured, reliable asset data and the creation of a single source of truth to support informed, organisation‑wide decision‑making. My systems‑thinking approach enables me to connect assets, processes, and portfolios across both industrial environments and complex linear networks within the water sector, ensuring scalable and consistent asset management practices.
