Bachelor of Science graduate from University College Utrecht with tracks in Biology (Physiology) and Earth & Environment, and a Minor in Psychology.
Working on DNA barcoding projects for the Taxon Foundation and Taxon Expeditions, handling samples from field expeditions as well as client submissions. My work includes laboratory work such as DNA extractions, PCR, and clean-up protocols, as well as processing and identifying sequences using tools such as Geneious Prime and BLAST.
As a "Kennismaker" at the Utrecht University Museum, I help bring science to life. I guide educational programmes, activities, and events, making scientific knowledge accessible, engaging, and inspiring for diverse audiences.
Conducted my Bachelor thesis research under the supervision of Prof. Menno Schilthuizen, focusing on soil macroinvertebrate diversity in Dutch city gardens and nature reserves.
Collaborated with ASML to identify and implement innovative waste reuse strategies.
The Amgen Scholars Program is a prestigious and competitive research program (acceptance rate 2.3%) allowing undergraduate students to conduct research at leading institutions worldwide. As an Amgen scholar at LMU Munich, I work at the Keays Lab where studied the cellular architecture of the magnetosensory circuit in the pigeon brain.
