• Partnered with CJID, a leading Nigerian NGO, to assess challenges of clean cookstove adoption in Nigeria and coauthored a 26-page report; presented the report to policymakers in order to support evidence-based decision-making on the country’s clean energy transition and enhance stakeholder discussions • Designed and implemented a research plan including 5 focus group discussions (31 total participants), 14 semi-structured key informant interviews, and observational field studies over a two-week period in Nigeria, synthesizing diverse perspectives into cohesive and field-driven insights • Streamlined qualitative data coding by developing a unified codebook and labelling for 600+ pages of primary data; identified previously underreported gender and regional disparities in adoption barriers, leading to more targeted policy proposals
• Constructed and maintained a panel dataset of Shanghai’s post-COVID tourism dynamics using Excel; generated cross-regional trend and time-series plots with STATA to evaluate and inform tourism policy on stimulating regional economic recovery • Reviewed and distilled over 70 academic and government publications related to the Yangtze River Delta tourism development program; provided analytical memos that were incorporated into policy proposals submitted to the Shanghai government • Supported the planning and refinement of the VIP seating layout for the AI Female Elite Forum at WAIC 2021, contributing to smooth guest coordination and successful execution of a high-level forum attended by over 1,000 in-person and online participants including government officials, scientists, and industry leaders
• Conducted in-depth scholarly research and wrote collaborative analytical articles on various contemporary international affairs like populism in Latin America and feminist movement in South Korea, receiving 5,000 + page views and were shared 120+ times • Proposed and successfully implemented a new content section on the Institute’s WeChat Official Account, compiled and translated numerous academic articles on global political issues such as statehood movement of Washington, D.C. • Benchmarked research output and public engagement of peer think tanks using R to support periodic performance evaluation• Translated various types of documents including newspaper articles, academic journals, and emails between English and Mandarin, improving the effectiveness of communication between different departments
• Retrieved macroeconomic and innovation data from various sources like World Bank, IMFWEO, Bloomberg; extracted and standardized indicators such as R&D expenditure and high-tech manufacturing output across countries and time for trend analysis • Cleaned, merged, and managed a multi-source panel dataset covering 12 global cities and 60+ innovation indicators using SPSS and Excel; performed comparative analysis to identify strengths and gaps in Shanghai’s innovation capacity, which fed into senior staff’s strategic assessments • Produced multi-dimensional data visualizations using R and Excel; contributed city-level insights that were directly incorporated into the final client report, shaping policy advice on innovation strategy for the Shanghai municipal government
