A Life of Growth, Leadership, and Impact Teens: Foundations of Curiosity and Passion As a teenager, I was drawn to geography and history, which deepened my understanding of the world. Hobbies like cricket, stamp collecting, and coin collecting taught me teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail, shaping my character and perspective. 20's: Professional Beginnings and Family Commitments In my 20s, I started as a travel agent, gaining exposure to diverse cultures and experiences. Migrating to the U.S. was transformative, and my marriage to Nabeela became a cornerstone of my life. As the eldest of six siblings, I played a pivotal role in supporting my family’s settlement and future, fostering strong familial ties. 30's: Leadership, Education, and Community Service My 30s were marked by a commitment to community service, where I led a National Youth Organization of 60 chapters and 2,500 members. I also organized my faith community’s annual conventions, hosting thousands for 10 years. Pursuing higher education, I earned a BS in Computer Information Systems and an MPP, which fueled my entry into politics and the creation of www.statedemocracy.com, empowering civic engagement through technology. In 1998, I ran for Maryland House of Delegates and that lead me to work on www.statedemocracy.com. 40's: Entrepreneurship and Political Engagement The 40s saw the rise of V-Empower, Inc., recognized for its innovation, developing over 45 impactful applications. I supported over 50 political campaigns and ran for office four times. This decade also brought immense pride as my daughters embarked on public service, achieving remarkable milestones. Raaheela and Shabnam both served on PGCPS Board. 50's: Navigating Challenges and Inspiring Leadership Despite financial hurdles, I stabilized V-Empower while launching ventures like xCater (www.xcater.com), Wakuk (www.wakuk.com), and Meet Hour (www.meethour.io). I mentored young leaders who secured seats on the Board of Education, fostering a new generation of change-makers. 60's: Mentorship and New Pursuits Now in my 60s, I focus on mentoring young professionals and preparing for a leadership transition at V-Empower. Revitalizing personal passions like philately, cricket, and writing, I aim to leave a meaningful legacy and foster collaboration for impactful initiatives. Wakuk is conceptualized, designed and developed by a young 25 year old Entrepreneur in less than 6 months. It is primary focus is to provide transparency to the drivers and consumers and reduce the enormous margin Uber, Lyft, Ola and other rideshare companies are taking away by adding wealth to their investors. Wakuk is currently operational in Hyderabad, India and currently in process of expansion in smaller towns in India and pacific countries by early 2021
I teamed up with few friends in 2004 to help candidates leverage online presence and helped 50+ candidates in couple of election cycles. We shut it down in 2010 as it became easier to build web-presence. In the meantime, we helped many candidates to develop their strategy and campaign plans and found an opening to build an easy application for candidates who do not have the resources to hire a paid consultant and strategist. We will be adding more tips and resources in near future.
We built this responsive web-application to faciliate candidates to analyze election results and develop their winning campaign strategies. Also, this application provides information about every candidate in Prince George's county and allows voters to engage candidates via email.
