Biomedical Engineering Major Union College’27 | R&D Engineering Intern | Neuroscience & Math Minors

Schenectady, New York, United States

About

I’m a Biomedical Engineering junior at Union College (GPA 3.94) with minors in Neuroscience and Mathematics, passionate about bridging technology and healthcare. During my internship at Drummond Scientific Company I designed SolidWorks fixtures, built resin-printed prototypes, created experimental protocols, and wrote detailed technical documentation and work instructions that supported process development and quality control. On campus I operate 3D printers, laser cutters, mills, and lathes as a Maker Web Technology & Fabrication Assistant, mentoring peers in safe and effective fabrication practices. I also bring creativity to the table as a self-published poet with a collection titled 'A Wild Heart & Its Secret Keeper.'

Experience

  • Union College (On-site)
    • Maker Web Technology and Fabrication Assistant
      Sep 2024 - Present · 1 yr 10 mos

Operated advanced fabrication tools including 3D printers, CNC machines, and lathes to support interdisciplinary engineering projects. Guided peers on the effective use of 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and other equipment. Ensured compliance with lab safety standards while maintaining equipment for optimal performance.

    • Athletics-Alumni Gym Work-Study Assistant
      Jan 2024 - Present · 2 yrs 6 mos

Demonstrated strong organizational and multitasking skills by overseeing the safety and maintenance of gym equipment. Assisted in inventory management, ensuring the availability of all necessary tools and machines for day-to-day operations.

  • Research Intern at AWEAR
    Mar 2026 - Jun 2026 · 4 mos

    • Conducted EEG studies investigating changes in brain activity during calm and stress conditions, using AWEAR's behind-the-ear wearable EEG device, through user interviews and gathered participant feedback to evaluate device usability and study compliance. • Recruited and tested participants, collected EEG recordings, and helped ensure reliable signal acquisition throughout study sessions. • Collaborated on the development of experimental protocols, participant instructions, and testing procedures. • Assisted with EEG data collection and participant testing to support evaluation of a wearable EEG device for stress and arousal monitoring. • Co-author on a conference publication investigating wearable EEG-based stress and arousal classification.

  • R&D Engineering Intern at Drummond Scientific Company
    Jun 2025 - Aug 2025 · 3 mos

    • Modeled and sourced parts for fixtures in SolidWorks, resin-printed prototypes, used the laser cutter for quick iterations, and assembled for bench testing. • Developed and ran experimental protocols; wrote work instructions and inspection checklists for new cleaning methods. • Participated in client design-review meetings and actively contributed to internal reviews and brainstorming sessions.
