I am currently pursuing Biological Sciences with a second major in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology at Nanyang Technological University, with a strong interest in molecular- and cell-based research and understanding the human body at a fundamental level, particularly the mechanisms underlying disease and host–pathogen interactions. I am deeply curious by nature and driven by a constant desire to learn. I am currently working on a research project that explores the use of electrical impulses to induce nanoscopic neuronal deformations to measure neuronal activity and study cell structures using iSCAT and confocal microscopy. Beyond the laboratory, I am the founder of Akshya Daan, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting organ and tissue donors and recipients. The initiative focuses on providing mental, emotional, physical, and financial support, while advocating for awareness and accessibility in organ donation. Leading Akshya Daan has shaped my perspective on translational impact, ethics in healthcare, and the importance of compassionate, patient-centered solutions. I am eager to continue growing as a researcher through hands-on, research-intensive roles that allow me to contribute to ongoing scientific work, especially lab based roles which expose me to new experimental techniques, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to solving complex biological problems
As an ACL Events for the Biological Sciences Club at NTU, I helped organize academic and career-focused events such as professor talks, stress-relieving workshops, exam welfare packs, and more. I also contributed to clade parent tea sessions, peer cohesion initiatives, collaborated with faculty, and worked on promoting student engagement.
Akshya Daan is an initiative to raise awareness about Organ Donation and dispel the myths surrounding it. The objective of this organization is to support and provide resources to Organ Donors and Recipients and help them lead a comfortable life.
I spearheaded multiple independent sessions on in housing societies and hospitals to educate and dispel myths surrounding Organ Donations. I signed up over 50 people as organ donors and encouraged over 250 people to pledge to become organ donors in the future. Felicitated by National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization on National Organ Donation Day in recognition of the efforts put in throughout the year.
