About

I am a certified teacher and Registered Clinical Counsellor (and Approved Clinical Supervisor) with a particular interest in resilience, attachment, and infant mental health - especially with regards to caregiver support. I hold a PhD in Health Sciences wherein I combined my various interests to look at sources of resilience of self-identified female teachers who managed multiple caregiving demands in their daily work. This work won me two national awards and drives my advocacy to better support helping professionals through my consultancy work (CompassioNorth) and in my various roles within education in British Columbia. Building on my doctoral work, I am always thinking about and testing out new ways of getting people together to support the emotional and relational aspects of human service work. To this end, in 2021, I completed certification as a Compassionate Systems Leadership Master Practitioner with the Center for Systems Awareness and am currently partway through certification as a Circles of Trust facilitator with the Center for Courage and Renewal.
