I am an independent and hardworking chemical engineer with a drive to complete all challenges thrown at me in a reputable timing ethically. I like to be placed in a challenging environment in order to fully motivate myself to push to the limit. Aside from that, I am very adaptable to surrounding changes as seen from my previous internship which required me to be outstation in the jungle. Furthermore, I am a very outgoing person that likes to occupy my time with useful activities. I graduated with honours with distinction from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus while juggling with curriculum shows that I am capable in managing my own time. Other than that, I participated in a group technical presentation in National Chemical Engineering Symposium (NACES) 2017 that was held in UiTM Shah Alam which shows that I am capable in presenting to a crowd of engineers.
• Planned and scheduled the daily tasks to be completed at the factory • Managed and planned customers’ project timelines to ensure meeting the required deadlines • Communicated and discussed with the relevant internal and external stakeholders on the project deliverables and requirements • Conducted investigations and experiments for product development and improvements • Arranged the logistics of the shipments of product locally and overseas
SUTS IChemE Student Chapter is the student chapter for Institute of Chemical Engineering in Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus. Throughout the period I was active in duty, I had participated in events such as an outreach program to a local high school to introduce chemical engineering to students that will soon be faced with an important decision to make in their life that is what do they want their occupation to be. Many students do not actually know what a chemical engineer actually do. Almost all of them thinks that chemical engineers are basically chemical scientist but that is not the case. I once heard during a talk given by the Regional Southeast Asia Marketing Manager for IChemE said that chemical engineers are the flexible engineer and I can't help but agreed. Throughout the duration of study, we as chemical engineers study regarding processes, electrical process control, mechanical parts and reactors design. We have to understand the whole plant in order to do our job well and that is what makes chemical engineering an interesting course to pursue. Besides, I also helped to organise few events such as installation night, Swinburne carnival and so on so forth. Therefore, I was able to improve my soft skills (i.e. communication, leadership, teamwork, time management and etc.) by organising all the events.
Ceramica Indah Sdn Bhd is a ceramics mainly in tiles (i.e. floor tiles, wall tiles & etc) manufacturing company. Throughout the internship duration at Ceramica Indah Sdn Bhd, I was given three projects whereby it required me to conduct lab analysis as well as provide a written report of the findings of each of the project. The main outcome of the projects given was to analyse the effects of each material/elements on the physical characteristics of ceramic tiles (i.e. hardness, heat shrink & etc.). Aside from that, I would walk around the two plants located there to better understand the manufacturing processes of ceramic tiles.
