A seasoned hands-on technical leader with 20 years of experience working across the entire tech stack and infrastructure. Skilled in software development using Agile processes, architectural design, and continuous integration and deployment processes. Passionate about problem-solving and building scalable and resilient platforms. Experience working in multiple highly regulated industries such as healthcare and compliance.
I oversee the infrastructure team and am currently driving the migration of our cloud infrastructure to GCP and GKE along with the team. I introduced GitOps workflow in our CI/CD processes and was responsible for the transformation of the classic 3-tier legacy applications to a set of containerised services running in Kubernetes. I have also designed and implemented an on-demand dynamic infrastructure platform that is used by the development teams for review apps. I am currently involved in the efforts to move to a modernised microservice-based architecture. I am responsible for providing the solution architecture for new platform development. I am also involved in the hiring of DevOps and software engineers.
I led the 8 member engineering team at Healthi and also had oversight on the QA department. I was responsible for the technical architecture, planning, execution and delivery, as well as hiring and people management. I managed the infrastructure on Azure and owned the DevOps tooling and processes. I architected multi-tenancy on the platform, introduced SSO using SAML 2.0 and drove API integration efforts with multiple partners. I worked on modernising the architecture utilising the strangler pattern. We also went through the ISO 27001 certification process in my time here and I defined and implemented the necessary software processes for the same. I was a part of both the internal and external audits and we succesfully achieved the certification.
In my role at Babajob, I worked on the re-architecture of a C# based monolithic platform to an event-driven set of microservices in Javascript and Java and the migration from SQL Server to MongoDB and ElasticSearch. I was also involved in the frontend re-write using Angular 2 with server-side rendering. I was also responsible for the Devops and infrastructure on AWS and drove cost reduction projects, resulting in a 30% saving. Responsible for scalability and performance of the platform
I worked in the system team on the Philips IntelliSpace Portal product, which is an advanced visualisation suite of products used by radiologists to diagnose medical images. My team provided the hosting environment for the suite of products. As a senior member of the team, I conducted technical feasibility studies, drove the architecture and design for new feature development and was involved in the planning and devliery of these features. I collaborated with cross functional teams to converge upon technical design. All feature development had to adhere to strict privacy standards in order to be compliant with HIPPA. I participated in the internal HIPPA audits for my team. I worked on a wide range of technologies here including .NET 3.5 and 4, REST-based web services, Remoting, LINQ, Protocol Bu ers, ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, JQuery and MSMQ
