About

Dr. Shidong Jia is an internationally recognized leader in precision medicine and a pioneer in next-generation liquid biopsy technologies. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications spanning blood-, urine- and CSF-based liquid biopsy studies across multiple cancer types. As Founder and CEO of Predicine, headquartered in Silicon Valley, Dr. Jia has led the development of advanced liquid biopsy platforms leveraging cell-free DNA and RNA to enable minimally invasive molecular diagnostics. These technologies support treatment selection, therapy monitoring, minimal residual disease (MRD) detection, and early cancer detection. Notably, Predicine's pioneering technologies and assay platforms have been utilized in high-impact publications in NEJM and Nature Medicine by leading organization, including Roche/Genentech, and have been presented at major international conferences. Predicine's flagship liquid biopsy assay, PredicineCARE, has received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, New York State approval, and is currently being advanced as a companion diagnostic (CDx) in collaboration with leading pharmaceutical companies including Johnson & Johnson. Dr. Jia founded Predicine in 2015 to address a critical unmet need he encountered firsthand while serving as a biomarker team lead at Genentech, where he supported the clinical development of Ipatasertib (AKT inhibitor). Through this program, he recognized that existing liquid biopsy solutions used in clinical trials lacked the accuracy, accessibility, and affordability required for robust biomarker-driven clinical drug development. Driven by a passion to accelerate clinical trials, Dr. Jia transitioned from a user to a developer by leaving Genentech and establishing Predicine with a clear commitment to developing Accurate, Accessible, and Affordable (AAA) liquid biopsy solutions purpose-built for global clinical trials, CDx development and patient testing. Predicine operates laboratories and teams in Hayward (CA), Houston (TX), Chicago (IL), and Shanghai (China), delivering AI-empowered, harmonized liquid biopsy testing solutions for MNC biopharma partners and patients worldwide. Today, Dr. Jia continues to drive innovation in AI-empowered liquid biopsy technologies and their clinical applications, with a focus on advancing global clinical drug development and improving patient care through AAA molecular diagnostics. Predicine's mission is to bring the best hospitals to every community and bring the best doctor to every home.
