  • Partner, Business Development at Mountain West Heat Pumps
    Mar 2024 - Aug 2025 · 1 yr 6 mos

Expanded community relationships as we focused on quality installation, all-electric homes, and cold climate heat pump space heating and heat pump water heaters. Key responsibilities included strategic planning, sales engineering, HVAC system design, training, field support, quality control, program compliance, vet upcoming heat pump technologies. Key team results: * Revenue growth of 80% and wage growth of 54% in 1.5 yrs, while maintaining exceptional gross operating margin. * Established Mountain West Heat Pumps as Mitsubishi Diamond Elite, and one of largest installers in Colorado. * Rebranded and tripled sales leads in <6 months with 100% word of mouth lead gen, no paid advertising. After working at Mitsubishi, I was invited to join this heat pump installation company as a partner. Previously named Midwest Appliance and HVAC, we utilized several strategies including Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to strategically reposition ourselves. I am grateful for my time with Mountain West Heat Pumps. I have learned so much from the team and day to day challenges. HVAC installation is truly a multi-skilled trade that I have come to deeply admire and respect.

  • Performance Construction Manager at Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US
    Oct 2018 - Jan 2024 · 5 yrs 4 mos

I helped building professionals understand and apply heat pump technology as part of a broader move toward an all-electric built environment. I worked with builders, contractors, architects, developers, engineers, consultants, and distribution stakeholders to make even better homes and buildings. With these partners, the Performance Construction Team provided: * Training on high performance building HVAC strategies. * Technical and aesthetic solutions for variable capacity heat pumps and zoned comfort systems. * Industry development and collaboration to make it easier for builders to meet rising efficiency standards. * Deep-dive understanding of heat pump operation, benefit to the grid, and realities of proper and improper system design and installation. Heating and cooling are generally the largest portion of most energy bills. Heat pump technology is one of the most direct paths to net zero energy and decarbonized homes. And they provide long term cost effective comfort. High performance heat pumps provide 2 to 5 units of energy output for every 1 unit of input throughout the year. Combined with better insulation, controlled air leakage, reliable indoor air quality, and renewable energy, heat pumps allow us to meet the eminent challenges of climate change and building growth. At the same time, we can improve our quality of life in an evolving world. It isn't "doing without", but rather "doing more with what we have".

  • Senior Analyst and Quality Assurance at D.R. WASTCHAK, L.L.C.
    Jan 2016 - Oct 2018 · 2 yrs 10 mos

DRW primarily helps production builders and multifamily developers complete projects in the following national green building programs: * Energy Star - www.energystar.gov/newhomes * Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) - www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/lihtc.html * LEED - www.usgbc.org/ * Indoor Air Plus - https://www.epa.gov/indoorairplus * Zero Energy Ready - https://energy.gov/eere/buildings/zero-energy-ready-home A few exciting highlights... * Arizona is a leading Energy Star state. * Foam sealed attics in production homes. * LEED production homes. * Front to back partner services from plan review, through certification, and builder warranties. Two of my favorite areas of responsibility were quality assurance and trades training. We were able to shift away from a pass / fail inspection model to a training based inspection model, focusing on the "why behind the how" and evolved our robust processes with greater depth and systems. I am grateful to have worked directly with Daran Wastchak who has been an industry leader for many years. As always, I continue to try and leave the world better than I found it by helping bridge the gaps in the building industry; between performance and practicality, between engineers and installers, and between minimum codes and sustainability. I love what I do!
