Innovation has been in Crestar's DNA since day 1. Founder Eric Tew spent over a decade proving a ceiling fan could be more than an appliance, pioneering aluminium composite on AC motors for durability, LED lighting modules for brighter homes, and DC ceiling fans for energy savings, first to market in Singapore on every innovation. He didn't just build a business. He built a brand with a soul. When he needed new leadership, he asked me, his son-in-law to step in. I joined in Jan 2019. In Oct that year, he was gone. His legacy became my responsibility. His vision became my mission: to build Crestar into the world's most innovative ceiling fan brand, curating comfort and wellness sustainably for people and the planet, beyond Singapore. Innovation for me means three things. Technology. From manual to digital, then a layer further. A GenAI chatbot deployed across our website, WhatsApp, social platforms drove an 80% uplift in sales and a 56% reduction in customer service time. Microsoft 365 Copilot moved the company onto real-time cloud collaboration, breaking down silos across every function. AI Agents ensured every team member, pre and post-sales speaks the same language: consistent training, consistent standards, one seamless customer experience. Featured in IMDA's GenAI Enterprise Playbook, Microsoft's Agents of Change programme, and the Microsoft Cloud Blog's worldwide showcase of 1,000 AI transformation stories. Sustainability. We measure carbon emissions yearly from a 2023 baseline, targeting 70% reduction by 2028, electrifying our fleet, eliminating styrofoam, switching to biodegradable and eco-friendly packaging that enables 30% more SKUs per shipment. We advocate for hybrid cooling. Named Grand Sustainability Champion by Ant International among 130 companies, and awarded the ESGpedia ESBN Asia-Pacific Green Deal Silver Badge in 2025. Through the Crestar Care Programme, we partner with NGOs and support less-privileged families because purpose extends beyond profit. Experience.
