Attached to ST Engineering Electronics (Satcom & Sensor Systems) as a software engineer intern. Worked on the SATCOM network management system project, a software solution that allows monitoring and controlling of satellite and server equipment from a single unified dashboard via SNMP. The system streamlines the management of hardware equipment by eliminating the need to access the various proprietary software platforms and physical control panels of equipment supplied by different vendors. Main responsibilities: - Developed Java code that established communication between satellite equipment and network management system; enabled remote monitoring and controlling of 4 equipment via unified dashboard - Identified and led resolution of critical bugs causing intermittent system crashes; resolution allowed team to meet major release deadline - Produced documentation covering codebase, equipment-specific knowledge, and software configuration steps; facilitated onboarding of new teammates by reducing time to access commonly used information - Mentored new teammates on team’s and project’s workflow, shared domain-specific knowledge, and conducted hands-on tutorials when appropriate; enabled them to contribute effectively within 3 weeks
Assisted with day-to-day operations of the IT department, including but not limited to: - Performing IT helpdesk duties, such as handling of tickets and ad-hoc troubleshooting of technology related issues for employees and guests - Coordinating digitisation project of hotel's signages: arranged vendor meetings, evaluated software, presented findings to relevant stakeholders - Automating deployment of routine software updates to corporate computers using batch scripting - Setting up of IT equipment for internal events and meetings
