I completed my BSc in chemistry at University College Dublin (UCD), graduating with a first class honours degree and a GPA of 4.02 in my final year. I have recently completed my PhD in the area of natural product chemistry at UCD under the supervision of Dr. Paul Evans.
This short-term contract was funded by Science Foundation Ireland to assist an early stage researcher in applying for a starting grant from the European Research Council.
This role involved researching, designing and conducting experiments within a chemistry lab, and analysis and characterisation of the compounds synthesised. The presentation and publication of the work carried out during the PhD was also a key responsibilty for this role. I also completed several Dublin Chemistry modules, including advanced organic chemistry, NMR, and mass spec courses. As well as this I taught tutorials for several undergraduate courses (20-30 students), demonstrated practical labs (10-15 students) and supervised several fourth year project students who carried out research in our lab.
