I am an ambitious student who is detail-oriented, outgoing and reliable in any role. My goals are to further engage in my interests in leadership, social justice, and research and to work in a dynamic legal environment. I have experiences in mentoring youth and undergrad students, resolving conflicts, and organizing community-building initiatives. These roles along with additional customer service roles have strengthened my ability to manage diverse needs and problem-solve under pressure. I am excited for any future opportunities that come my way!
Pangea is a club that celebrates diversity and multiculturalism. As VP Events I lead and coordinate event projects aligned with the club's mission and EDI values. I managed a team by fostering collaboration, setting clear deadlines, and providing constructive feedback. I collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure successful execution of events, ensuring compliance with policies and standards. I also maintain the club’s relationship with the University Students' Council (USC) through the submission of event proposals and regular updates.
As a Residence Don, my responsibilities include welcoming 45 first-year students to Western and creating a floor environment that encompasses inclusivity, fun, diversity, and academics. My job is to help them transition into the academic and social aspects of university and be a constant source of support. I connect students with residence and campus resources when needed. I ensure a safe residence environment for all those living there. I plan events for my floor and the residence with EDI values and learning outcomes in mind.
As a Camp Counselor, I was responsible to supervise and take care of a group of children aged 4-12. My duties were to create weekly activity plans including crafts and games that kept children engaged and active. I supervised campers' safety during off-site visits and adhered to policies and procedures. I was also to incorporate educational aspects to the activities so that children are still learning while not at school. Additionally, I was expected to communicate with my co-workers and supervisors to discuss our plans and goals for the week, as well as communicate with parents about these goals and provide excellent customer service.
As a Residence soph, my responsibilities include creating a memorable welcoming experience to Western for first-year students, and being a trusted friend and role model while assisting first-year students in making social and academic transitions to university. I actively support and maintain open communication with my floor by informing them of resources and social and academic events, visiting my floor often to personally connect with students, caring about their well-being, and being empathetic and open to conversations about social, emotional, or academic struggles. I also collaborate with the Floor Don and my Soph partner in planning social, floor-bonding activities for the floor.
