Serve alongside my husband in church leadership, overseeing operations, staff, and community programming. Additionally identified a community need and built The Growing Place Preschool from the ground up — navigating state and federal licensing requirements, designing curriculum, hiring staff, and launching operations. This is the fourth program I've built from scratch across my career, and it reinforced what I keep learning: the families who thrive are the ones with a plan and someone who knows the systems.

► SCIENCE ➛ Managed a team of middle school/high school science teachers, as Science Department Chair, to vertically align curriculum, increase academic rigor, and create teaching strategies, thereby raising scores in testing subjects. ➛ Led the committee for district science curriculum selection ➛ Purchased classroom set of laptops for my Physical Science classes instead of textbooks. Wrote own physical science curriculum using open source resources. ➛ Instituted Google Classroom into the school district to help lead the science department toward STEM. ➛ Individualized instruction for both higher and lower students using technology, thereby increasing skills, confidence, and success. ➛ Highlighted critical thinking skills and taught students to use those skills in life applications while in the context of science (Such as teaching them how to use Google docs/sheets to create a science report) ► MATH ➛ Increased state test pass rate by 36% in first year. 2nd year pass rate was 100%. Then leveled to 87-90% with most homework being done in class. ➛ Collaborated with other teachers to increase effectiveness in the math department ➛ Instituted regular usage of graphing calculators and TI-30SX Multi-view into the math classrooms, increasing scores overall in our school ➛ Focused on the whole student: students’ confidence, understanding of concepts, critical thinking, and the willingness to engage a problem. This allowed students to succeed at a higher rate. ➛ Designed a curriculum strategy that utilized various methods of instruction to connect with a variety of student learning styles.
