I'm an innovative and award-winning tech leader with a passion for sports, sponsorship and entrepreneurship. Co-Founder and CEO of FanSaves Inc. a digital couponing platform that offers fans discounts and deals from the sponsors and affiliated brands of their favourite teams and organizations. Our platform helps organizations increase their sponsorship revenue and gives both organizations and sponsors a way to track ROI and customer analytics in a more effective way than traditional sponsorship options. It was our journey in the sports industry that gave us our light bulb moment to create FanSaves and getting to help so many different teams and organizations has been a dream come true.My passion for sponsorship sales and marketing is paired equally with my love of writing, design and content creation. My background in digital marketing has helped propel FanSaves forward quickly as we grow across North America and my public speaking skills have allowed me to pitch our startup on stages across the world and to important investors.My other love is journalism and being a television host allowed me to meet so many amazing people and learn about their stories. While I am currently focusing all my efforts on growing my startup, I do hope to one day have the chance to be in front of the camera again. As the Co-Founder & CEO of FanSaves, I have been a key driving force behind not only creating the business and the brand but also growing and scaling it. Since the very beginning, I have ensured that my high standards are reflected throughout the company as I've worked together with my co-founder to grow FanSaves to a team of 10 as we've scaled across North America. I am proud to have created the FanSaves logo and branding that has continued to serve us well as we've grown. I have played a key role in marketing, branding and public relations for the company, helping FanSaves to become a respected brand throughout the sports industry and beyond. As the CEO, I have secured nearly $1 Million for the company through investment, grants and other startup funding. I am a strong grant writer, project manager and a fierce negotiator. I have been able to successfully grow from a non-technical co-founder into our lead product manager, working alongside our development team to consistently improve our platform. I lead from a place of empathy and encouragement, ensuring that I work for my employees as much as they work for me. I always have time for teaching moments and I work hard to ensure those I am leading are always putting their best foot forward and pushing themselves to be their best. As a former competitive athlete, I bring much of that grit and determination to the boardroom. I never give up and I always show up. I believe it's the hard work that we put in behind the scenes that makes it look easy to the rest of the world and that nothing beats true perseverance and resilience.
My passion to help other startup founders has led me to this role at Invest Ottawa, an incredible organization which my own company has been supported by for many years. In this role, I oversee the IO Ignition and IO Flex programs and help connect founders to the appropriate supports which can help them build their business.
For a number of years, I was the Host and Community Producer of the twice weekly local television show, Community Matters on YourTV Cornwall. I researched and interviewed hundreds of local people, sharing their stories of community support and celebrating events and local heroes. Using my skills as a broadcast journalist and my natural charisma, allowed me to not only interview my guests but also really get to know them and their stories. I was often told that I helped make guests feel comfortable and at ease being in-front of the camera, which for many was not something they were used to. My natural talent for holding a conversation allowed me to make any interview interesting and informative. I have continued to be involved with the local cable channel, co-hosting the Santa Claus Parade, hosting and doing voice overs for the Youth Achievement Awards, co-hosting the Cornwall Hospice Telethon (from 2017-2019) and participating in numerous community events over the years.
