Effectively communicate with surgeons and nurses to provide quality advanced wound care modalities and techniques for all wound types; including venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers, arterial insufficiency ulcers, diabetic neuropathic ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, burns, and traumatic wounds. Proficient at applying negative pressure wound therapy, multi-layered compression wraps, and total contact cast systems. Able to evaluate patients and create plan of care. Provide sharp wound debridement and cauterization when appropriate. Apply various skin substitutes, including Apligraf and TheraSkin. Assess for peripheral arterial disease using doppler. Give patient counseling on basic wound care, wound healing, diet/lifestyle modifications, and preventive measures.
