Shane Guse is a top call musician on stage, radio, television, in recording studios and beyond. His album credits include many award-winning projects. Shane can be seen performing with numerous Canadian artists, including JUNO and CCMA winners Dean Brody, and Jason McCoy, and has performed with pop superstars such as Richard Marx and Colin James, as well as nine-time Grammy award winner Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel. Some of his most memorable shows have been performing on the legendary Grand ole Opry, playing overseas in Kandahar for the UN troops and at the CMA Music festival in Nashville. Television appearances include “Anne with an E” the series, Murdoch Mysteries, The JUNO Awards, The Canadian Country Music Awards, “CBC by Request” and numerous CMT specials Shane has been awarded eight Canadian Country Music Awards in the musician categories, has over 25 CCMA nominations and was inductee in the CCMA Musicians Hall of Honour in 2017. He was also voted the Country Music Association of Ontario Musician of the Year in 2024. He is the founding member and leader of the Canadian Roots group, The Western Swing Authority. With this group he has garnered four CMA Ontario Awards, three Academy of Western Artist Awards, two Independent Music Awards and CCMA nominations for Alternative Country Album of the Year (12 to 6 Central), Roots Artist, and Group of the Year. Shane can also be found at Wilfrid Laurier University and The Laurier Academy of Music and Arts in Waterloo, where he teaches improvisation, directs the improvisation ensemble (ICE), gives private lessons, and conducts workshops. He has also worked with numerous schools in the Waterloo District School Board, and beyond, as a para-professional doing workshops with aspiring string students, and he has been a guest instructor at various other camps and events in Canada and the U.S.
