About

I'm an engineering leader with over a decade of experience operating at the intersection of backend systems, infrastructure and secure cloud architecture. I’m as comfortable deep in Go code as I am designing distributed systems architecture across Kubernetes on AWS or GCP. My focus is on building high-performance, secure payment systems that operate reliably in regulated environments. At Nomupay (formerly Total Processing), I lead cross-functional teams spanning software and platform engineering, architecting and delivering greenfield PCI DSS Level 1 compliant payment products across POS and ECOM channels. My work spans low-level TCP networking and ISO 8583 message processing, secure key management and transaction design, through to production-grade cloud infrastructure and reliability architecture. I own architectural direction end to end, including database design, transaction integrity models, compliance scoping, network segmentation and resilience patterns. I have worked directly with accredited PCI QSAs during initial implementation and ongoing maintenance of PCI DSS Level 1 certification, translating regulatory requirements into practical technical controls and ensuring systems are designed correctly from first principles rather than retrofitted for compliance later. I believe technical leaders should stay close to the work, contributing directly while aligning teams around a coherent, secure and scalable architecture. Payments and fintech are where I do my best work. The combination of protocol-level detail, performance constraints and strict security requirements creates engineering challenges that demand precision and rigour, which is exactly the kind of complexity I enjoy.
