      As part of my sandwich degree I completed a 12-month, full time industrial placement as a Mechanical Engineering Intern with a GE Oil & Gas company, specialising in oil and gas pipeline inspection. Being an effective and efficient member of the New Product Introduction department, this lead to extended employment working around my university schedule and subsequently, a full time graduate role. This work included, but not limited to the following: • Design of Smart Pipeline Inspection Gauge’s. Producing models, assemblies and drawings for manufacture using PTC Creo CAD software. • Producing engineering calculations and finite element analysis studies. • Design of lifting/handling equipment and pressure vessels working to well-known industry design standards. • Holding departmental and cross-functional design reviews. • Taking feedback from Field Engineers, making the tools easier and less time consuming to build and refurbish. • Executing various engineering change requests, quality concerns and reliability issues. • Designing tests, writing procedures and technical reports. • Engineering document management and control. • Dealing with suppliers on quality issues. • Representing the company on numerous occasions visiting suppliers to witness the progress of various projects at numerous stages of manufacture and testing. This included meticulously reviewing document packs such as the manufacturing record book, inspection and test plans to ensure the quality and compliance of delivered goods.
