"Shakti Women was created to support today’s woman to realise her full potential and to set and reach her goals". We were established in 2006 out of a recognition that the average woman juggles. She juggles work and family and whist men do too, women are often primary carers for children and elders and because of these often demanding roles, we can let our own priorities, wishes and dreams slip by unacknowledged. We also realised that not all women and ready for professional development, many of us want to find ourselves, learn about ourselves, explore our world, so we established Shakti in the Community. We provide a space for women and girls to re-focus on their own needs, this can be in the form of coffee mornings, creative writing workshops, talk therapy...And yes we still offer the acquisition of knowledge and skills to support all women to achieve their full potential. Unlike any other women’s organisation, we work on the idea that by focusing on our business & professional development alone, we can create a living but focus on the whole WOMAN and we create a life. During lockdown and beyond, Shakti Women focused almost entirely on promoting self-care. We offered on-line counselling, creative writing and other zoom meet-ups. As we came out of lockdown we continued to focus on wellbeing, yoga, outdoor walks and mediation classes and these will continue. But during the pandemic, we found a new on-line community. In September 2023 launched our Digital Membership Programme. Yes ladies, that's all the Shakti Magic on-line. There are many pressing concerns in this world, but babe, the better prepared and successful you are, the stronger and wealthier we all are and together we can weave a new fabric, for a new world.
