Louisville, Kentucky, United States
I spent 16 months as a laborer before becoming an apprentice with the United Brotherhood of Carpenter's (UBC). I have almost made Journeyman status and expect to graduate this year.
I mostly do concrete form work. I am proficient with Peri systems as well as Simon panels and rough forms built on-site. I can form columns and walls as well as slabs and footers. I am also a good scaffold erector and I can weld, although I am still working on my welding certification.
I took a long cross-country road trip to see America in 2020. It was a big loop covering 28 states and lasting about 40 days, I saw the most famous National Parks and the less famous ones, as well as many cities. It was extremely rewarding and I would recommend any young person with the means and opportunity to a long drive across the lower 48.
