Seth is a former public company executive who is now an executive coach. He was most recently the Chief Legal Officer at Marqeta (marqeta.com) where he led all of Marqeta's legal strategy and operations and helped the Company IPO in 2021. Prior to Marqeta, he was SolarCity's EVP, General Counsel and Secretary. Seth was responsible for SolarCity's legal, compliance and risk functions and led the Company's 2012 IPO. Seth was also SolarCity's first VP of HR, building the function as the Company scaled from 200 to 4,000 employees. As Marqeta's Chief Legal Officer I was responsible for all of its legal strategy and operations, including Risk and Compliance. I reported to the CEO and led the Company's 2021 IPO. When I joined Marqeta total headcount was just over 200 and when I left it was just over 1,000. The legal team was four people when I started and when I left it had scaled to 50. We were a team of 50 smart, funny, high EQ lawyers and compliance professionals. My leadership team was 60% women and the department was highly diverse.
