Operations Director for Mace UK on a Data Center campus near Mons in Belgium Coordinate the delivery of a hyperscale data centre on the client campus & the client relation on site and at continental Europe level (client: one of the GAFAM - confidential). One of the key challenges was the management of the COVID context and all the EU compliance requirements, and their multiple impacts on staff sourcing and wellbeing, supply chain, programme delivery... on the largest construction site in Belgium with over 1,500 workers of 20 different nationalities or languages, at peak. ⇒ ~1,000,000 hours worked without a Lost Time Injury Prepare for deployment (post Brexit) of Mace Technology & Manufacturing BU in other EU countries.
• Appointed Board member of the Company, based in Manchester and originally named Thermal Transfer, the day after its acquisition by Bouygues – initially as FD, then Operations Director (2008) and MD / CEO (2009). • Delivered a company restructured post the subprime crisis, reducing overhead costs and non-profitable centres. • Leading a team of circa 250 staff spread across multiple sites and offices in UK and IRL for circa £150m turnover p.a. • Embedded an expansion strategy, leading Bouygues E&S Ireland to enter the local pharma and data centre markets and also acquiring ICEL in Kent, expert in Electrical & Instrumentation to foster a larger London presence. • Introduced consulting services, full D&B turnkey and life cycle solutions allowing the Company to double in size. • Cultivated relationships with blue chip clients including one of the fastest growing data centre providers in London (data centres represent nowadays >50% of the Company’s turnover and the majority of its EBIT). • Led the commercial negotiations of 2 Waste to Energy projects won on a full EPC+O&M long term basis, £150m assets. • Represented Bouygues Energies & Services' interests in the successful joint bid for the construction of the new world-leading research facilities of the Department of Physics at the University of Cambridge, total project value £250m. • Working collaboratively with clients and all stakeholders quickly ascertaining business needs, managing risks, coordinating technical and commercial solutions and all planning, budgets, QHSE and legal requirements. • Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction from the genesis of their needs to the end of product life cycle and achieving high customer retention rates and repeat business. • Strong KPIs monitoring and achievements. • Gold award for our outstanding contribution to AstraZeneca Business Improvement. • 1st Bouygues eco-friendly construction site at Croda Leek. • RoSPA Gold standard in Health & Safety since 2013.
