I am an ENT surgeon, focussing on rhinology, allergy and otology, mainly as department head of the Belgian Military and also in civilian setting at the general hospital of Herentals. Next to my job as a medical doctor, I combine my interest for technology and (military) medicine expertise, as the founder and CEO of Hippo Dx, where we improve allergy diagnosis by automating skin prick tests. Our CE marked medical device, the Automated Skin Prick Test or SPAT, performs allergy tests with 12 simultaneous pricks, automatically. This ensures: - more accurate diagnosis by reducing variability and digitizing results - Cost-efficient testing by testing faster, while consuming less allergen solution - more time for patient care thanks to less hands-on time
