Istanbul, Türkiye
I've been selling since before I knew it was a profession. It started in my family's textile business in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar: reading customers from all over the world, finding a common language when there wasn't one, and learning early that deals are closed on trust, not price. The products have changed since then; printing inks for global packaging brands at Siegwerk, and today wind turbines at Goldwind, one of the world's largest turbine manufacturers. The tickets got bigger. The craft stayed the same. Now I cover Türkiye and the CAMENA region, running deals end to end: originating the opportunity, negotiating turbine supply and service agreements, and structuring the financing with export credit agencies and international banks. I sit between a Chinese headquarters and regional developers, two sides with very different ways of doing business, and my job is getting them to the same signature. I'm an engineer by training (İTÜ, then a master's in Engineering and Technology Management at Boğaziçi), which helps when the product weighs a few hundred tons and the contract runs a few hundred pages. If a deal is complex, cross-border and hard to close, it's probably mine. Talk to me.
