NMCN operates in a variety of industries as a specialist Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) contractor, providing consultancy services, design and construction, operation and maintenance of assets mainly in the Water Industry. The subsidiary also provides project management of turnkey civils and MEICA schemes. Overall Key Responsibilities; • Prepare outline & detail design of electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems including associated design documentation and drawings such as SLD, BCD, P&ID, cable calculations, schedules, control philosophy, network architecture, explosion risk assessments, zoning diagram, etc., in accordance with technical specifications and client requirements predominantly for water and wastewater treatment plants in the South West region. • Liaise with clients, government authorities, contractors and suppliers. Lead and facilitate project review, design risk review, client HAZOP and collaborative meetings with internal and external design and delivery teams. • Visit sites to carry out scoping and site surveys, provide reports to the internal management & client. • Support the procurement of cost-effective electrical & ICA equipment securing bottom-line savings to the company where possible. • Support the proposals department by providing technical support/clarification according to client requirements and technical specifications. • Assist clients with production and revision of their technical standards. • Perform document control for the internal and outsourced design in accordance with the project requirements. • Provide technical support for the site installation/commissioning teams during different phases of the projects. • Training and mentoring new starters and graduates. • Sub-process control owner for companywide electrical based design documentation and ‘test pilot’ for the introduction of new company design management and document control software.
One of the leading industrial plant EPC contractors within engineering, procurement and construction maintaining a specialism in water/wastewater treatment plants, operating as Project Application Manager (and formerly EIC Engineer) both on-site and within the head office; Overall Key Responsibilities; • A key Project Application Manager in the build of industrial plants (water/wastewater) across Power Plants, Oil Production Plants, Heavy Industry Factories and similar industries. Demonstrated excellent understanding of complex plants, collaborated with world-class leaders in the field including Siemens, OMV and POSCO. • Produced methodology statements for each project, managed costings and financial forecasts ensuring all projects met completion time-scales and are compliant with financial projections. • Supported the proposals department by providing cost estimates according to client’s requirements and technical specifications. • Operated across head office and sites responsible for pre-contract basic engineering designs, detailed engineering works upon contract seal, customer relationships for Electrical & ICA works, site installations, commissioning and training of client’s staff. • Produced detailed design documents for LV, MV, instrumentation and control systems including all related lists and drawings. • Managed site works during installation and commissioning; co-ordinated a team of electrical technicians across MV & LV works and automation installations. • Produced PLC and SCADA software for Know-How projects.
