As a former Career Diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, I was responsible for relations with the World Economic Forum, the World Food Programme, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the International Labour Organization, and the United Nations Population Fund. I also covered food security and development assistance activities in a broad sense. Throughout my experience in the Ministry, I developed proficiencies in International Relations, Foreign Policy, Consular Issues, Diplomatic Correspondence, Protocol, and Negotiation Techniques. I applied these skills in various diplomatic missions across Turkey, Iraq, and Switzerland, by handling consular, administrative, and economic undertakings. I actively engaged in multilateral meetings, representing the government and providing expert contributions on trade, development, and geopolitics. I prepared supportive background notes and talking points for the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I also facilitated knowledge-sharing on artificial intelligence and defence sector strategies. I valued fostering partnerships and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, ensuring efficient representation and ongoing communication. I completed my Master's education in Applied Social Data Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), to be informed about the cutting-edge approaches in data science and social science research. The courses I took included causal inference, machine learning, computer programming, quantitative text analysis, and social network analysis (audited). I now aim to delve deeper into more advanced quantitative methods to enrich my skillset and build on the foundation I acquired in my career in public diplomacy.
Undertook the coordination efforts with the UNDP Regional Office in Turkey and UN Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries within the Directorate General for International Economic Affairs, thereby contributing to the advancement of UN development agendas through capacity building and the diffusion of technological know-how.
As an alumnus of the Diplomacy Academy of Turkey, I have developed proficiencies in International Relations, Foreign Policy, Consular Issues, Diplomatic Correspondence, Protocol, and Negotiation Techniques. Beyond consular affairs, I actively drive and report on diverse discussions in bilateral and multilateral environments, focusing on political, military, commercial, and developmental subjects in Turkey, Iraq, and Switzerland. Key Achievements: I expertly handled interactions with Heads of State and Ministers, ensuring their comfort and effective coordination. I adeptly managed almost all associated requests. I orchestrated over 10 high-level, government-to-government, government-to-business, and multilateral events. I successfully achieved consensus and fulfilled the content amendment requests in diplomatic texts. I represented Turkey in high-level meetings and consistently adhered to strict report deadlines. For instance, I possessed the ability to craft comprehensive reports within 6-7 hours. I compiled a critical dossier for the Foreign Minister's Office, highlighting issues concerning over 30 major national investors in Iraq. This could be perceived as an essential reference for interactions with local government officials.
Under the Deputy Directorate for Multilateral Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , I am responsible for relations with the World Economic Forum (WEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). I also cover food security and development assistance activities in a broad sense. In the context of the aforementioned organizations, I prepare evaluations, background notes, and talking points for the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. I contribute to ensuring efficient representation of the government in multilateral fora by providing amendments in diplomatic documents in line with foreign policy guidelines. Additionally, I maintain robust engagement with the country offices of international organizations and liaise with the relevant authorities to uphold the rules of foreign policymaking.
