I’m passionate about shaping how batteries are used, reused, and repurposed to enable a more sustainable and profitable transport ecosystem. With a background that bridges engineering and business development, I thrive in the space where technology, analytics, and strategy meet. At Scania, I lead the development and execution of the company’s battery repurposing initiatives. My work focuses on managing the full portfolio of projects that assess the potential for second-life applications and the integration of used batteries into supplier BESS systems. I also develop the analytical methods and business models that make large-scale repurposing possible. My role combines technical understanding with commercial and strategic responsibility, requiring close collaboration across departments and with external partners to turn pilot projects into scalable, profitable solutions. Before joining Scania, I was part of Nortical’s leadership team, where I helped scale a battery analytics company through international sales, fundraising, and operations, working with major OEMs and mobility pioneers.
Alongside my primary roles I have supported companies within electrification and related fields through consultancy projects focused on business development, strategy, and sales strategy. These assignments have included developing go-to-market plans, financial models, and sales structures, providing clients with stronger commercial direction and measurable growth.
In my current role I have overarching responsibility for all projects within Scania’s Circular Battery Business Development related to battery repurposing and analytics, covering both technical and commercial aspects. I am responsible for the overall management of Scania’s portfolio of repurposing projects, overseeing activities from assessing whether returned batteries are suitable for second-life applications to integrating Scania batteries into supplier BESS systems. Several successful integrations have already been completed, validating both the technical and commercial potential of second-life energy storage solutions. These projects have enabled the sale and deployment of BESS installations representing a value of tens of millions of SEK. I am also responsible for analytics within the group, including developing prognoses for future battery return flows that form the basis for strategic and commercial decisions. Alongside these responsibilities I define business models, negotiate contracts, and build the commercial architecture that supports reuse, repurposing, and recycling pathways. This role combines strategic business development with hands-on program management, requiring collaboration across departments and with external partners to move projects forward and deliver scalable, profitable solutions that support Scania’s transition toward a circular battery economy.
I worked at the core of Scania’s battery strategy, defining how the company evaluates, tests, and integrates batteries that are no longer suited for use in vehicles. This included developing methodologies for assessing the state of health and optimal second-life applications of used batteries, as well as establishing efficient recycling processes for those not suitable for reuse. In this role I managed projects within both battery testing and system integration, where we demonstrated how used Scania batteries could be safely and effectively repurposed in new applications. These efforts led to several successful second-life integrations and the facilitation and sale of stationary battery energy storage systems (BESS) worth tens of millions of SEK. I also acted as the link between Sales, Marketing, and R&D on all matters related to battery health and second-life potential, ensuring technical results were translated into viable business opportunities. My work included collaboration within the Volkswagen Group and contributions to research in areas such as EIS testing and V2X capabilities of heavy vehicles.
As Deputy CEO & COO I was responsible for Nortical’s daily operations while driving commercial growth. I managed a company of around 15 employees, oversaw finance, legal, and HR, and supported the CEO in strategic decision-making. I also worked on securing investments, building investor relations, and managing customer projects and contracts worth several million SEK. The role required aligning sales, operations, and technical functions to ensure project success and long-term scalability.
As CSO I led Nortical’s sales organization and managed customer projects with OEMs such as Volvo and Scania as well as innovative mobility companies including Voi and RGNT. I was responsible for commercial strategy, investor dialogues, and customer relations, driving multi-million SEK projects and establishing Nortical as a trusted partner in the electrification ecosystem.
