In 2023, I emigrated to Portugal, dealing with the necessary bureaucracy, renovation, and construction work until now.
As a Database and Application Developer in the German Public Service, I actively contributed to the development and continuous improvement of an in-house case management software used for processing social benefits according to the SGB II (German Social Security Code) in Hamm. My focus revolved around maintaining the underlying Microsoft SQL database and collaborating with my team to provide software support and resolve issues. Furthermore, I maintained interfaces with external services such as our document management system and the servers of the Federal Employment Agency, streamlining tasks such as managing monthly statistical reports. Through regular communication with various departments, my team and I ensured ongoing support and software updates. Our in-house solution, tailored to meet the specific requirements and preferences of our employees and customers, sets it apart from off-the-shelf solutions. This was a hybrid position, giving me the opportunity to gain experience and effectively work in a remote environment.
