I conduct research on the microbiology and chemistry of lake and ocean environments, including salt lakes, fjords and stratified lakes. Through a combination of field work, lab analyses and modeling, I aim to understand the cycling of elements (biogeochemistry) in these systems, which can have implications for their contemporary role in a changing climate and in some cases teach also us about similar environment in Earth's past.
