BUILD is Manitoba's keystone trades-based social enterprise, renovating affordable housing, while training and employing individuals with multiple employment barriers for long-term, meaningful careers in the trades. Since 2006, BUILD has saved the Province of Manitoba billions of litres of fresh water, created huge reductions in greenhouse gases, put thousands of derelict affordable housing units back on the market, reintegrated individuals leaving incarceration, and allowed families to reunite with their children out of the CFS system, all through the power of patients and culturally appropriate support and employment.

With no contract buyouts associated with transition into full-time employment, each job placement can be considered an on-site interview, allowing for potential on-boarding opportunities to happen organically.
The Social Enterprise Centre (traditional name: House of Courage) is an amazing 30,000 square foot converted heritage former CP mail sorting warehouse. Over 100 years old, it is now a collaborative workspace and incubation centre for social enterprises, home to some of the biggest players in Winnipeg’s social economy.
