Core Skills and Responsibilities To lead and manage the Operations teams working across 3 Data Centres in the UAE to achieve targets associated with operational security, availability, reliability, efficiency, improvement and maintenance in addition to building a high performing collaborative team. Ensure all aspects of Operations management and maintenance is appropriately coordinated, managed and executed so as to achieve availability objective, facility management (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), asset management, technical service support to customers, fulfilment, and administrative support to the Operations teams Ensure effective management of projects involving customer equipment, capital improvements, and computerised preventive maintenance repair and maintenance system. Ensure all emergencies are responded to in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards, policies and processes such as system failures, fire alarms, severe weather, 24x7 operation, maintaining operational requirements & adequate back and the health and safety of all staff and customers. Implement and enforce corporate safety, health and environmental policies including activities of contractors to insure no adverse affect on the operation of the facility Analyse, design, purchase, deploy, and support all parts and equipment used by Operations groups at the Data Centre. This includes, but is not limited to: ladder racks, cabinets, cables, patch panels, connectors, and tools. Design and implement customised solutions for cage and cabinet installations for Data Centre customers. Ensure all Operations teams are skilled and knowledgeable to coordinate, review, and provide training for Operations staff.
Core skills and responsibilities Management of the M&E infrastructure of all of the IT services across the Emirates Group including all outstations, 2 major Datacentres and Corporate buildings within Dubai. Manage and implement project work involving the IT infrastructure Achievements Design and implementation of a Tier 4 design Datacentre and the successful move of IT Hardware from existing Datacentre with minimal impact to the end users Detailed risk assessments of the Datacentre M&E Infrastructure highlighted a number of concerns which, via a separately generated action plan, addressed these risks. This has resulted in a MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) originally at 72 days to currently 500>days. Capacity planning of the whole M&E infrastructure, which has enabled detailed growth potentials within the existing infrastructure and has been instrumental in planning the future expansion strategy of the Datacentre environment. Changes organised within working practises and maintenance procedures have increased the reliability and performance of the M&E services.
Core skills and responsibilities Manage M&E installations and assets including associated expenditure to provide safe, optimum and cost effective environments for personnel and services throughout a portfolio of various types of buildings, which included Corporate Headquarters and Training & Hotel facilities for in-house and external clients. Achievements Controlled National M&E contracts, unified processes and enhanced communication with customers, improved service level response to 95% and reduced complaints by 50% over a three- year period. Mitigated annual maintenance and Life Cycle Capital Expenditure (LCCE) by renegotiation of contracts, fees and implementing realistic solutions to reduce inefficiency, saving £250K in 2005. Formulated data base to analyse fundamental M&E maintenance costs across the portfolio to implement strategic and timely financial planning of annual budgets (c£4-5m p.a) and LCCE (ongoing c£2-3m p.a.). Initiated major in-depth risk assessments of major office and computer environments culminating in redesign and installation of systems to strengthen services for business continuity, increased staff densities and new IT technology (project range £50k - 2m p.a.). Project managed and controlled installation and maintenance of M&E and non M&E services, contractor operations including audits, progress and finance (>100 sites c250,000m2). Produced design concepts, specifications, contract documentation, technical and managerial reports. Succeeded in administration of JCT, MF1 and other Company contracts.
