My role was a Unit Business Manager for Subway at Welcome Break I was responsible for reviewing store specific KPI’s and acting upon the data recorded. I would conduct a weekly welcome break brand audit to ensure my unit is brand compliant and we are working within the different rules and regulations required of a food unit within the service station. It was also my responsibility to perform a full monthly store audit which includes training updates, health & safety and maintenance record checks, cash & stock and I was required to check through the weekly inventory and sales report, highlighting and rectifying and discrepancies, which I later report to the Head of Finance for the site. I was also responsible for the sign off of all rotas, ensuring they are written within company directives and stay under the agreed labour cost for each individual week and within Working Time Directive rules. I held overall responsibility for the recruitment and selection of each member of staff and I was required to sign off each new team member following the company learning guide, Staff reviews were held by myself and the Site Operations Manager on a monthly basis and are based on a number of store and personal targets. I was using my previous skills at Subway to help increase the unit’s sales and performance. Achievement we’re: a 96% Subway Audit Pass, Highest Sales ever for 6 weeks straight, overall 92% Mystery Shopper Average.
My role at Gala Bingo was a Deputy General Manager. I worked alongside a General Manager of a club to maximise profits for the club. As a Deputy General Manager, it was my duty to create and sign off staff rotas following an agreed budget set by the company. I was also responsible for staff training and reviews. Also as part of my role I was responsible for making sure all Cash Handling, Club Health and Safety, Club Security and Stock Management policies and procedures are being followed. I was responsible for making sure the club follows all Gambling Licence rules and have been trained to deal with problems with gambling addictions. I was also responsible for collections from machine, Reconciling the collection, investigating shortages and banking the money. Each month I would create and action a Club action plan from the Profit and Loss report from the club, this helped improve the performance of the club against budget set by the company. At the end of each period I was responsible for Diner and Bar stock take. As part of my role I also followed the company Due Diligence book by checking Health and Safety, Fire and Food Safety issues in club.
